This is dependent on the needs of your child and their family. According to the evidence we have surrounding Play Therapy thus far, it appears that most children move through the four stages of their therapeutic journey within a six-to-eight-month period- this is assuming they attend most or all of their sessions.
Some children may reach the 4th stage of mastery within as little as three months though, depending on their experiences and the rate at which they are willing to work through this and it is also dependent on whether a child is engaged in intensive therapy (2-3 sessions a week) or just the standard 1 session.

Referrals can be made using the ‘referrals’ button on the homepage. We accept referrals from agencies and organisations on behalf of a family. A self-referral can also be made by completing the form with your own information and submitting for your own child. You do not need a GP referral to receive play therapy.
-
Typically, a parent/guardian consultation is planned with child’s therapist every 6 weeks. However, these can be less or more regularly had depending on the child and the parent’s request- these can be had via phone or in person.
We encourage parents/guardians not to ask questions about your child’s session in front of them or ask leading questions post-therapy. We want to protect their confidentiality, sense of self and allow them (and yourself as a parent) to trust the process. We want to avoid the child potentially dreading therapy because they feel compelled to respond in a certain way afterwards or worried about what they say in therapy.
-
Weekly sessions have been identified throughout research as the most beneficial for children. Depending on the child, multiple sessions a week could be considered for a more intensive approach to therapy. Fortnightly sessions can be considered, but it is important to understand this will mean the progress we may see in therapy will generally be slower.

All sessions are in line with the NDIS costings. We would ensure for NDIS clients that a service agreement was completed prior to intervention commencing. Please note we only currently service plan and self managed clients, not NDIA clients.
Sessions are $190/session
Departmental quotes and invoices must be paid prior to intervention occurring and are bulk funded only.
-
Creative connections will seek payments for provision of services after they are provided. Departmental clients must be invoiced and paid prior to intervention commencing. Departmental invoices will be bulk funded for a minimum of 12 sessions.
Please reach out to develop a plan that meets the needs of your client and their families.
All private and NDIS invoices are to be paid on the day of therapy. This can be paid through bank transfer.

If your child cannot make a therapy session you would still be required to pay 100% of the fee if it is within 48 hours of the session. We will send you a reminder via text within 48 hours of your session for you to confirm attendance. If you can provide more than 48 hours’ notice that your child will be absent for a Play Therapy session, we would charge 50% of the fee.
Some families may wish to miss some sessions during school holidays etc; however, we recommend you are as consistent as possible with attending to continue supporting your child with therapy when you have changes in the routine in other areas of your life.
If families are taking time off for holidays and upon returning want their previous day and time, a 20% holding fee must be paid to keep your allocated therapy time.
If the therapist needs to reschedule your appointment, no charges would be made.
The participant or their representative is required to give 2 days’ notice for the cancellation of appointments if the participant is unwell or any other circumstance. (as per NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits). If this is not possible Creative connections will charge 100% of the agreed hourly rate. Creative connections will work collaboratively with the participant and/or their representative to develop strategies to avoid this occurring. If the client is unable to attend, the agreed parties can negotiate another task to be completed in lieu of therapy.
Cancellation can occur via email, phone or text.

Yes, initially this will be required to ensure the safety of all. Over time, if deemed safe and appropriate you may pop out and grab a cuppa next door but we would prefer you remain close/onsite incase we need to engage. Please always discuss this prior to your child’s session.
